The present application provides a method and a process for strengthened leaching of laterite nickel ore. The method comprises: obtaining reaction conditions for a laterite nickel ore leaching reaction; establishing a reaction model for the laterite nickel ore leaching reaction based on the reaction conditions; wherein the reaction model comprises a liquid-layer diffusion control model, a product-layer diffusion control model and a reaction control model; determining a reaction conversion yield of the laterite nickel ore leaching reaction based on the reaction model; the applicable reaction models under different reaction conditions are established based on the reaction temperature, acid/ore ratio, and reaction period, and thereby the laterite nickel ore leaching process can be controlled accurately. The present application provides theoretical basis and guidance to the strengthened leaching of laterite nickel ore, and thusly improving the reaction rate of the laterite nickel ore leaching reaction.
